Vocabulary #7

Cursory-something done quickly with only one small attention to detail
(When I asked Jen about the whether she replied with cursory information off her phone)
Impetus- Force to make something happen
(An angry mob is impetus to make their presence clear by brandishing their weapon towards the other mob)
Pinnacle- Highest point
(This is the pinnacle point in his life, he needs to take it with confidence)
Contumely- Rudeness/humiliating language
(They say she's not tall enough, she is too slow, she's not pretty, but she does not respond to their contumely; she walks with broad shoulder's and chin up high passing every single body who thinks opposite of her, proud and loud)
Bereavement- to leave alone, especially by death-have been deprived
(I feel as though I cannot see past the light, I'm left of bereavement seeking this pain to take me)
Cache-place for storing provisions, safekeeping
(The cache of the survival ration is discovered after a forgotten storm that happened a decade ago)
Consummation- Fulfillment; a goal or end act of consummating
(Wonderer's are lovers of the word looking for consummation)
Calamity- event bringing terrible loss
(The loss of many innocent lives in the Aurora shooting at the Aurora movie theater was a calamity)
Fortify-To strengthen and secure
(In order to fortify a supple piece of string is to stretch its length to full extent and hold down its width to prevent its momentum)
Erratic- no fixed or regular course; lacking consistency
(Her drinking has increased, so has the erratic confusion the next morning from forgetful memory)
Ubiquitous- being or seeming to be everywhere
(Technology is seemingly ubiquitous to growing around the world, it has gone viral)
Fortitude- Strength of mind that allows one to endure pain
(If only teens from today would fortitude and find the respect to their own body image)
Nonchalant- Seeming to be coolly, unconcerned or indifferent
(Some children from the world war times, became nonchalant to the huge event and had no mental effect on them)
Affect-To have influence/ cause of something
(When the republicans and democrats cannot compromise they can have a erratic downfall affecting the system of government)
Effect- Result of the cause
(The effect between the battle of political parties lead to over 80,000 jobless employee's)
Misappropriate- Unethically, inappropriate
(It's so easy for a store manager to misappropriate their employee's pay hours)  
Pragmatic- Concerned with facts or actual occurrences
(For the respect of it's people, the political parties seem so pragmatic about the economy they affect the 80,000 jobless employee's effected today)
Metacognition- Awareness of one's own learning and thinking process
(Sometimes studying is a metacognition for my forgettable memory)
Devoutly- Devoted to divine worship or service
(I am devoutly devoted to my military service of 10 year's)
